Because you’d rather be riding than writing
Hi! I’m Penny Hawes, professional horsewoman and professional writer.
Having owned and run large boarding/teaching/training barns, I know that the last thing you want to do at the end of a long day is to hop on the computer and update your website or manage your social media (at least it was the last thing I wanted to do!) But here’s the dilema – if you don’t do it, who will? There are plenty of people who manage social media or write blog posts or website copy, but how well do they understand the horse business? If it’s going to take forever to teach them the important stuff, you’re back to square one. This is where I come in. Not only have I been a certified instructor for decades (since the last millenium, actually), I’m also a professional writer. My articles have appeared in the Chronicle of the Horse, Dressage Today, Virginia Horse Lovers, and Horse Talk and I’m a regular contributor to the United States Dressage Federation magazine The Connection.
Why Choose Me
From getting my first horse at age 12 (trust me, that was decades ago!), through 4H, Pony Club, an Assistant Instructor’s Certificate from the British Horse Society as well as earning my Therapeutic Riding Instructor & Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning Certificates, I’ve been involved with learning for most of my life.
After having done a newsletter for our farm, I became Newsletter Editor for several organizations I belonged to. I wrote web copy for my own website, as well as sites for other equine professionals. I started writing for magazines about 15 years ago, and have been published in Horse Talk, Virginia Horse Lovers, The Chronicle of the Horse, Dressage Today, and I’m a regular contributor to the United States Dressage Federation’s magizine, The Connection.
Let my experience work for you by freeing up time while not sacrificing the quality of your marketing plans. Whether you need your website copy refreshed, need someone to manage your social media, or to help you craft your newsletters – I’m here to help. I do the writing so you don’t have to.
